Tết: A New Year, A New Beginning
Wishing you happiness in the New Year!
What is Tết?
Tết is Vietnam’s Lunar New Year, celebrated on February 17, 2026, and it marks the arrival of spring — a season of renewal, hope, and fresh beginnings. It is the most meaningful time of year for Vietnamese families: a time to reunite, honor ancestors, sweep away hardship from the past, and welcome good fortune for the year ahead.
The year 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of courage, resilience, and bold transformation. It represents embracing change rather than fearing it , moving forward with strength and purpose. How fitting that the very first year of our foundation begins under the spirit of the Fire Horse!
A few weeks ago, I traveled to A’Lưới District on a scouting trip to prepare for our upcoming volunteer mission this July. What I found will remain in my heart. I was welcomed by breathtaking mountain landscapes, generous local leaders eager to partner with us, and most importantly, the people whose hands I shook, whose homes I visited, and whose stories I will never forget. These are families working tirelessly just to survive each season. Parents who want more for their children. Elders who carry dignity even in hardship. People full of hope, simply waiting for opportunity.
Over the next 9-days, I’ll be sharing the stories and photos from this journey, moments that reminded me exactly why I launched this foundation in the first place. This Tết, as families across Vietnam gather and welcome a new year, many in A’Lưới will still face uncertainty: limited access to food, healthcare, and education. But together, we can change that story.
Your generosity is more than a donation, it is a beginning. It helps a family access sustainable food. It brings healthcare to those who have never had it. It opens doors for education and long-term independence. As we celebrate renewal and courage in the Year of the Fire Horse, I invite you to share a part of your blessings with those who are ready to rise.
This Tết, let your giving create new beginnings in A’Lưới.
