The Challenge:

The global community is unified under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3): to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all. Unfortunately, Vietnam faces a significant gap in achieving this goal, ranking among the nations furthest from its fulfillment.

This isn't just a statistic; it represents countless families and communities in targeted communes who lack consistent access to quality medical care. Their health challenges often become barriers to education, employment, and a better life. A significant percentage of residents in A Lưới District have never received care from a physician, dentist, or optometrist.

Our Goal:

The Hong Lien Foundation will collaborate with Hearts for Huế, Bệnh Viện Răng Hàm Mặt Huế (Huế Maxillofacial Hospital), and international partners to deliver both direct patient care and medical training to help close this gap.

Annual Health Clinics (2-Week Program)

Each summer, multidisciplinary medical teams will provide:

Wellness Checks: Physical exams and pharmaceutical treatment as needed
Dental Care: Exams, fillings, and extractions
Vision Services: Eye exams and prescription glasses

Each individual may receive up to three services, and referrals will be given for complex or severe cases requiring further treatment.

Training and Capacity Building

International healthcare providers will offer hands-on and classroom training to students in partnership with Bệnh Viện Răng Hàm Mặt Huế (Huế Maxillofacial Hospital). This component builds local capacity and ensures sustainability of care beyond the initial program window.
